Most people buying a property in Edinburgh have a good solicitor advising them in all aspects of property purchase. However, very few solicitors actually go viewing property with their clients. The property finding service offered by Jackson Knight is not intended to replace the advice already on offer from your solicitor; it is intended to give you all the information you require so that, when it comes to making an offer, you will be doing so fully armed and prepared.

Jackson Knight has viewed hundreds of properties over the past few years and has built up a wealth of knowledge as to where to buy and where not to buy. We know which flats might have smaller rooms than others in the same block. We can also very quickly assess a property for its ability to be altered and improved either to maximise space, and/or increase its value. We have valuable knowledge and can give great advice about improving the layout of a property and generally helping to ensure that you buy the best property you can for your budget.

We will also assist you in preparing your offer and deciding how much to bid. We can also liaise with your solicitor during the negotiating process to assist with haggling the price down if the property has any unforseen problems.

Most property finders promise “off market” property, in other words, property that isn’t yet being advertised. Although Jackson Knight is sometimes offered “off market” property, we don’t claim to be able to find you a property that isn’t yet available. What we offer is a unique service where we will assist you in the purchase of a property. You might be an investor, or a busy professional, who simply doesn’t have the time to trawl round from property to property and you just want someone to do the legwork for you. Or you might be someone who wants to buy a property yet finds the whole process stressful and uncertain. Let us help you.

Tell us what you’re looking for. Perhaps you can’t live without a garden, or maybe a large garage is your absolute must have. You might want a certain number of bedrooms, or you might definitely need a room which can be used as your office. Tell us which areas you like and which ones you don’t, let us know your budget and we’ll find the property for you. It’s as simple as that!

We’ll go viewing and rule out any properties that don’t meet your requirements, and then we’ll come back to you with a shortlist of suitable properties with a list of pros and cons. We will then arrange to view those ones with you.

Our fee for this service is 0.9% of the purchase price.
